Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of BrokerBooks, operated by BrokerBooks Pro Canada Inc. By using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Description of Service

BrokerBooks is a financial organization and expense tracking tool designed for Canadian real estate professionals and other self-employed individuals and small business owners. The Service allows users to track income, expenses, HST, and receipts for business purposes in compliance with Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) record-keeping requirements.

2. Not Professional Advice

BrokerBooks is a record-keeping tool only. It does not provide tax advice, accounting advice, or legal advice of any kind. Always consult a qualified Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) for tax filing and professional advice. BrokerBooks Pro Canada Inc. is not responsible for any tax filings, penalties, or financial decisions made based on information generated by the Service.

3. Account Registration

• You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account.
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
• You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service.
• One account per user. You may not share accounts.

4. Subscription and Payment

• BrokerBooks offers monthly and annual subscription plans billed through Stripe.
• Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled before the renewal date.
• Monthly subscribers may cancel at any time from the Settings page. Access continues until the end of the current billing period.
• Annual subscribers may cancel at any time from the Settings page. No partial refunds are provided for unused months on annual plans unless required by applicable law.
• Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. Contact support@brokerbooks.ca within 7 days of billing for refund requests.
• We reserve the right to change pricing at any time with a minimum of 30 days written notice to your registered email address.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems
• Upload malicious code or interfere with the Service's operation
• Share your account with others

6. Data Ownership

You retain full ownership of all financial data you enter into BrokerBooks. We do not claim any ownership over your data. Upon account deletion, your data will be permanently removed from our systems within 30 days.

7. Service Availability

We strive for 99% uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Scheduled maintenance will be communicated in advance where possible.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Canadian law, BrokerBooks Pro Canada Inc. shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

9. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. Depending on your subscription plan, cancellation terms may vary. You may cancel your account at any time from the Settings page. Upon cancellation, your access will continue until the end of the current billing period, after which no further charges will apply.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein.
